What is the RoboRAVE International?
"Today's Play, Tomorrow's Pay"
We’re all about players competing in robotics AND having FUN while doing it! That’s why our motto is “Today’s Play, Tomorrow’s Pay” and has been since we founded the New Mexico RoboRAVE International in 2001.
What can I win?
Cash, trophies and banners for player, coaches, and school. Every cash prize is REQUIRED TO BE SPLIT evenly BETWEEN the players and coaches!
Starting in 2007, we awarded large “sports-like, seen in the gym-style” championship banners to show off your victory.
When and where are the competitions?
We hold annual events where you’ll see over 350 kids on over 100 teams, from New Mexico, west Texas, and northern Mexico, learning how to problem solve on the fly.
What will you see?
Kids, middle through high school age, in teams of 2-4, working together while yelling, laughing and getting excited as their robot, wiggles and waggles, along a set path to deliver a payload or is cruising around trying to find and put out candle flames in 3 minutes or less.
The cost?
WALK-ON CHALLENGE– Nothing; just be on hand to try our robotic design. NXT CHALLENGE is the cost of a ©Lego Mindstorm NXT Robotic Kit (~ $250), a few extra batteries, some patience and a registration fee of $50.
